
I started seeing Samantha in 2022.
When I first met with Samantha, she was going through a lot. She was carrying a lot of trauma and pain from a past DV relationship. She was a mum to a 1-year-old. And despite her deep desires of wanting otherwise, she was living with her parents, single and not working. And emotionally, she was afraid, she was disconnected from herself, couldn’t tune into her body at all and woke up in a self-hate cycle that she could not see her way out of.
Along with these, the biggest struggle Samantha came to me about is her fear. Fear of going outside alone. Fear of dating and letting somebody in. Fear of getting back into the workforce. Fear of parenting her daughter without her parent’s support. Fear of reconnecting to herself. Fear of putting herself first. Fear of moving on.
Now, Samantha is in a full-time job that she absolutely loves. She is living alone with her daughter. She in in a healthy relationship. She moves her body daily. She is parenting with more patience and ease than ever before. She can connect to her body for the first time in her entire life. She sits in her emotions and processes them with love and safety.
In our session last week, Samantha told me that she was truly at peace. With her past, her present and with whatever comes next.
Samantha committed to creating a different life, and she did it.
