I am my number one priority, even as a mother and business owner.
I love my children with my entire heart. I also love my work so wholeheartedly but if I didn't prioritise myself, nothing else would flourish in the way I want them to.
If I didn't prioritise myself, live life according to my values, take care of my physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being and do things that fill my heart then sh*t would hit the fan.
I would be cranky. Uninspired. Frustrated. Uncreative. Work wouldn't get done (not with any quality anyway) and the parenting I would be doing would not be from a place of love. I would be forcing life to happen instead of allowing it to flow and happen.
I've learned that if I want to be the mother, partner, daughter, friend, counsellor, coach, business owner, or human being I want to be, I need to be my number one priority.
Fill your own cup first, always.
