When we experience pain, trauma or hurt, we have two options.
We can spread it by suppressing it, allowing it to come out in unhealthy and unhelpful ways, which leads to causing pain in others.
Or we can heal it by facing it head on, experiencing it entirely and processing it.
Pain, trauma and hurt is part of life. It's going to happen, we are all going to experience it, we can't control that but we can control how we respond and react to the pain, trauma and hurt.
We can choose what happens from the experience and honestly, maybe both of these options sound uncomfortable and scary for you, and that's okay, but we now know (thanks to countless studies and research) that we don't want to repress our experiences. Working through our experiences is a much better option, not just for yourself, but for the collective.
Start by creating safety and curiosity around your pain, trauma and hurt and the healing can come later when you feel safe and ready.
