How can our kids know how to treat themselves well if we don't show them?
I want my kids to grow up knowing that it's okay to feel emotions and to ask for help. That they're allowed to prioritise themselves and say no to other people. That nothing it's safe for them to do what their gut is telling them. That whilst love from somebody else can be absolutely amazing, what is truly important is love for themselves. That they should stand up for what they believe in. That being authentic to who they truly are is the only way to live life.
These beautiful, magical qualities unfortunately won't be taught at school, so it's our job as their parents to teach them. And how do we teach them? We lead by example.
We feel our emotions and ask for help. We prioritise ourselves and say no to other people. We listen to our gut and full our intuition. We love ourselves first and foremost. We stand up for what we believe in. We are nothing but authentic.
Monkey see, monkey do. Children see, children do.
