there's this paradox in healing.

There's this paradox in healing.

We want to feel better, but at the same time, we crave the chaos we know and understand.

There’s safety in the known, even if the known is hard and painful. We understand that pain. We understand the hardship.

It feels scary to try new things… like feeling better.

I get it. Chaos, abuse and self-harm were my safety once upon a time too. But I decided I didn’t want to experience the paradox instead, so I started doing the hard things and eventually, things improved and then they continued to improve.
