how trauma affects your business

Newcastle Australian Holistic Counsellor, Wellbeing Coach & Business Mentor

I don’t think we talk about this enough…

Trauma doesn’t just live in the past. It lives in the body. In the way we respond to stress. In the way we protect ourselves. In the choices we make, often without even realising why.

And for those of us in business, those patterns can show up in the quietest, sneakiest ways.

The overworking, because rest feels unsafe. The undercharging, because somewhere deep down you don’t believe your work holds value. The fear of visibility, because being seen once felt dangerous.

It’s not just procrastination. It’s not just self-sabotage. It’s a nervous system doing exactly what it was wired to do. Keep you safe.

When you’ve grown up in survival, your brain learns to equate doing more with being worthy. It ties your success to how exhausted you are. It tells you that being small is safer than being seen. That people will only love you if you give and give and give until there’s nothing left.

And so you build a business that looks good on the outside, but underneath, it’s built on burnout, people-pleasing, and perfectionism.

But it doesn’t have to stay that way.

You get to build a business that feels like home. You get to rest without guilt. You get to be seen without shame. You get to charge in alignment with your worth, not your wounds.

This is the heart of the work I do. Gently unravelling the survival patterns that no longer serve you. Rebuilding your business from a place of safety, clarity, and wholeness.

Because you didn’t come this far to keep recreating your trauma in the work you love.

You came to heal. You came to thrive. You came to come home to yourself, fully, so you can have the life of your dreams, including your biz.

And I’m so honoured to walk beside you when you're ready.
