burn out is not physical exhaustion, it can be lack of joy.

Newcastle Australian Holistic Counsellor, Wellbeing Coach & Business Mentor

There was a time when I thought burnout only looked like exhaustion. You know the kind that leaves you struggling to get out of bed, dragging yourself through the day, running on empty. And while that’s part of it, I’ve learned that burnout isn’t always about how tired you are. Sometimes, it’s about how much joy is missing.

Burnout can be going through the motions, doing everything you’re supposed to do, but feeling numb inside. It’s looking around at your life, the job, the responsibilities, the routine, and realising you don’t feel alive in any of it.

For me, burnout didn’t just show up in exhaustion. It showed up in the things I used to love no longer feeling fulfilling. In my passions feeling like chores. In waking up and feeling numb about the day ahead, rather than excited or hopeful.

Burnout is not just a lack of rest. It’s a lack of connection, to yourself and your soul, to your joy, to the things that make life feel meaningful.

If you’ve been feeling this, I want you to know, you don’t have to keep living this way. You don’t have to accept a life that feels dull, empty, or uninspiring. You can find your way back to joy, back to passion, back to yourself.

This is the work we do in my 1:1 counselling and coaching sessions, not just recovering from burnout, but rebuilding a life that feels good. One that brings you energy, not just drains it. One where you wake up feeling excited, not just obligated.

If this speaks to you, I’d love to support you. Message me for more info or book your free vibe check call online now. 🤍✨
